Could a twitter solution be to continue to allow blocking but no longer have an anti spam complaint that causes suspensions? Should we campaign for this?

To their credit, Twitter is dealing with an overwhelming amount of spam and abuse which also degrades the quality of user experience. Instead of eliminating spam reports, there are middle-ground solutions:
Limit amount of spam complaints per account per day.
Weight spam complaints by the number reported by each account.
Ignore spam complaints from accounts that have been blocked over 100 times.

We have found a large number of spam-block abusers to have been blocked their selves en masse, so the last solution may actually work best.

There’s still Alexa, a 15 year old girl, who started her twitter account January 7, and right away go into liberal campaigning. I met her January 22 when she asked me to follow her.

So, she wants to be “part of something bigger” and “make a difference”. That’s how she talks. And I think she should get the chance to see the light at the end of the ‘tunnel’, until she can become a member of UniteBlue.

I am very impressed of her amazingly high spirit and feel the need to care about young people like her. So I told her, I would DM the UniteBlue in her state, and the whole issue should be discussed there. My hope is, they can guarantee you, that she’s a trustworthy liberal trouper (I think so) and that she cannot be demotivated by brushing her of. UniteBlue members are supposed to cooperate anyway in their states.

I told her, very young accounts are considered a risk and that the right constantly tried to destroy the left on Twitter. But in some not too far future she should have a chance to be a member.

I want to discuss this matter with other members on Twitter (without blaming you!) to hear more opinions:

“The need and risks of fostering young talents.”

Keep up your great work!

Clarissa
